Tina Gadow

Tina Gadow is a partner with Kessels & Smit – The Learning Company GmbH, Germany.

There, in places where we vividly engage with others, where creative sparks fly and eyes sparkle with enthusiasm, in situations where the personal experience is placed in the foreground: That's where things happen. Tina Gadow helps people to recognize their own talents, develop potential and implement change processes with ease – within organizations and teams, during projects and events. That is the core of her work as a process facilitator and consultant for project and organizational development, as well as a facilitator for large groups, as an event dramaturge, conference curator and mediator.

After completing degrees in Theater Studies / Cultural Communication and French Literature in Erlangen, Paris and Berlin, Tina Gadow began her professional career in international cooperation. She was responsible for cultural policy networking, international (cooperation) projects and conferences at the Goethe Institute's office in Berlin. She established the topic of "Culture and Development" at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and was a member of the Cultural Committee of the German UNESCO Commission in this context. In 2005, she was posted to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for half a year as a consultant for GIZ. She pursued further education in large group moderation, Theory U, mediation and conflict management in organizations.

Since 2008, she has worked independently under the motto "Shaping Diversity", which aptly describes her attitude and way of working: Diversity is an engine for development and innovation – in social contexts as well as for organizations, conferences, teams and individuals. Appreciating differences and making them a constructive element of encounters and dialogues is the focus of her work. For her, shaping diversity also means working in very different fields and cross-linking those experiences. She has assisted organizations in a variety of processes: international, civil society peacemakers in building a strengthening community; major cultural institutions in the development and strategic integration of cultural education; an exchange platform for supervisory boards of medium-sized family businesses; management development for Tunisian cultural managers; regional cultural cooperation between municipalities in the Rhineland; startups and companies in Tunisia to develop innovative new job creation strategies; MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Events) companies to professionalize their personnel and transform their convention culture. As co-founder of the competence network "der kongress tanzt" (“the convention dances”), she is particularly interested in creating lively, joyful and participatory events. This attitude underlies the »micelab: BODENSEE« (laboratory and further education platform), which she has curated since 2013 and which was honored in 2017 with the Innovation Prize of the Tourism Industry Association of Lake Constance

Tina Gadow's passion for theater continues to shape her work to this day: She designs processes with playfulness, a feeling for (visual) language and space, a sense of aesthetics and knows the importance of dramaturgy, shifting perspectives and improvisation. She prefers to place the emphasis on what is already there, rather than what is missing or creating pressure. She sees herself as a host who opens up a space for experimentation and learning and who helps find a common language. She remains patiently persistent when it comes to finding out what is essential – even when the atmosphere is difficult and tense. It is important to her that groups recognize their own responsibility for processes and help shape them. She keeps the bigger picture in view, brings loose ends together and gets to the point – in German, English and French.
